In August of this year, we informed you about a new game from the authors of the Sniper Elite series, Rebellion Developments. Heading called Project Archipelago was supposed to offer multiplayer battles based on the rules of the battle royale genre. However, in the field of gameplay, the developers did not hide the basis in the form of the aforementioned Sniper Elite brand.

The project was created in collaboration with the Chinese company Tencentwho eventually lost interest in the game. This information was recently brought to us by traditionally informed journalist Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming magazine.

Henderson added that the end of Tencent’s funding led to an immediate halt to development. However, individual developers should move on to other projects within Rebellion led by the continuation of the Sniper Elite series and the post-apocalyptic action game Atomfall.
