The long-awaited Farming Simulator 25 is finally out, and everyone is probably wondering how everything will turn out this time. The new tornado-like weather won’t exactly wipe anyone’s eyes, but improved artificial intelligence could bring some light to the empty darkness. If you ever feel alone in this harvesting world, you can talk about your feelings with the various NPCs you meet. They’ll be happy to give you advice on everything from growing crops to forestry, and add a bit of wisdom at the end. I wonder how? So listen up.
Farming Simulator 25 is the ninth major game in the series. This is a realistic farming simulator, where with each new version released, the developers try to get closer and closer to realism, and they still succeed. So let’s look at the most fundamental changes.
The biggest novelty in grain crops is classic and long-grain rice. I tried growing it myself and I must say that I found it quite interesting. To retain water, it is necessary to have special in-depth fields. There should be a water pump next to it that will flood the rice fields. The great thing about this is that you can grow your own seedlings in your own greenhouse or buy them from the store. For both types it is also necessary to have a cultivator and a tractor with trailer.
You sow long grain rice dry with a classic mower and cover it with standard seeds from local stores. When you finish planting, you pour the water onto the rice field. When harvesting, a regular thresher is sufficient; there is no need to buy another one.
Rice differs from long-grain rice mainly in that it is sown on a field that is already flooded with water and it is necessary to have a special planting machine. The most important thing for both species is to monitor the water level and check it every day, otherwise your field will dry out and you will lose all the seedlings. After a few months, the harvest time comes, for which you need to buy a special combine designed for this type of rice.
What made me very happy was the expansion of crops in greenhouses. In a darkened greenhouse, you can grow not only green onions, chili peppers, Chinese cabbage or garlic, but also mushrooms such as oyster mushrooms or velvety mushrooms. This passive income is already paying off.
Another new crop is spinach, beans and peas. They do not require special care. It is only important to sell spinach immediately, as it cannot be stored and will quickly wither. But it is profitable because it can be harvested twice a year. What is already special are the vehicles that must be available for each crop separately.
Along with this, a number of new cars appear. Although the community wanted more for the older types of cars, we only got new ones, and unfortunately there aren’t many of them. What impressed me most was the new bike, which allows you to perform beautiful stunts on the hills. Or you can buy a Škoda and drive it on the road like true pioneers. A few new cultivators, mowers, tractors and other equipment are nice additions, but I don’t think there’s much to choose from. Old items from different brands can bring more retro life to any farm and make farming more interesting and challenging. Maybe next time.
