Even Sony can’t resist the traditional discount before the Christmas holidays. The Japanese company published an advertisement ahead of time, announcing a reduction in the price of the console. PlayStation 5.
Sony will be fighting for customers ahead of Christmas to boost sales, which fell 22% year-on-year in the previous quarter. A version of the ad that is no longer available stated that The PS5 Slim will retail for $380 before taxes. (converted to CZK 9,000). Thus, the discount is $70 (converted to 1670 CZK). But this is “just” a version without a Blu-ray drive, which is sold separately, as is the vertical stand.
The promotion should start soon (probably on Black Friday) and will run until December 24/24 this year or while supplies last. A similar discount is expected in Europe.
The ad completely lacked information about how much the standard edition with a disc drive would cost. Previously, Sony also had a discount on this version of the console. Where, on the contrary, you can’t count on a discount, it was recently released. PlayStation 5 Pro.
A few hours later, the ad was removed and replaced with another version where the discount information was no longer displayed. This caused outrage among the players. In the comments they write that Sony has already begun to remaster the advertisement. Others would like to finally see the announcement of new single-player games and the further removal of the PSN account requirement for PC games.
