The remake of the famous Survival Horror Silent Hill 2 received a full 10 out of 10 in our review, and one of the big advantages was the huge amount of details and references that the developers from Bloober Team prepared for the players. Some were discovered fairly quickly, others were discovered over time by players. One of the biggest mysteries surrounding the photos you collect while playing the game has now been solved by a fan who shared his discovery on Reddit under the username DaleRobinson.
The game contains 26 photographs, each of which, in addition to the content of the photograph, has a written sentence and a serial number. Dale Robinson discovered that if you count all the objects in a given photograph (for example, the windows in photo #6), you get the index letter from the accompanying sentence. If all the letters are placed in the order of the photos, a short message will appear: “You have been here for two decades.”
But what exactly the creators had in mind, we will probably leave it up to your discretion; even the fans will not agree with this. Some say the developers mean the fans who have been here for two decades as a kind of gratitude, others see it as something deeper. The report may support the fairly popular theory that James is in a loop, replaying the events of the game over and over again.
Whatever the meaning of the message, it was completely intentional and created directly by creative director Mateusz Lenart, which he confirmed on Twitter, where he congratulated the discoverer.
“I knew it wouldn’t stay hidden for long! (There was a theory in our company that the puzzle would be too difficult) I really wanted it to be decent when I drew the pictures…”
