Full production of Control 2 is due to begin next year.
The Finnish company Remedy Entertainment today published financial results for the third quarter, that is, the period from July to September this year. The company can boast, for example, that compared to the same period last year, total sales more than doubled to just under 18 million euros. But not everything is so rosy.
Alan Wake 2, which celebrated its first anniversary a few days ago and received the latest DLC called The Lake House, has still not lived up to its expectations. Remedy says they recovered “the majority” of development and marketing costs, but we don’t know exactly what percentage that is. In any case, the game still does not bring money to the Finnish company.
The view into the future is already more pleasant. The developers continue to work on Project Condor, which was recently officially unveiled as FBC: Firebreak, a co-op first-person shooter from the world of Control. It will launch next year on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and will be available on Game Pass and PS Plus Extra/Premium on release day. Work on the game continues as planned and the game has been in full development for some time now. Lately, the developers should have focused on improving the core gameplay loop and making the user interface more intuitive.
Development of Control 2, a full-fledged sequel to the 2019 action game, also continues as planned. The game is in the “production ready” stage, and Remedy plans to release a full product next year. The company adds that a number of important functions have already been implemented, and now everything is being prepared to move to the next stage of development.
But Control 2 is perhaps the most distant project; a little earlier we should see remakes of the first and second Max Payne, which will be released simultaneously with one game. The project went into production a few months ago, and according to Remedy, development is progressing well, gradually reaching all important milestones.
