It’s only been a few hours since we wrote about the huge success of co-op game It Takes Two, which has surpassed 20 million copies, and at the end of the article we speculated a little that the next game from the developers at Hazelight Studios may be just around the corner . Finally, very soon we received tips directly from the studio itself.
“I’m getting a lot of questions about the next game. So, that’s the tease.” wrote Hazelight creative director Josef Fares on Twitter. What information did he share? The new game will not be a sequel to A Way Out or It Takes Two, but a completely new IP. At the same time, he revealed the first and last letters of the name, which should be S___ ______N. Some players jokingly note in the comments that, for example, Star Citizen meets all the requirements.
Fares’ tweet also included the studio’s own account, which included an image with additional clues that may need to be deciphered. In any case, this confirms the fact that, like the two previous games from this studio, their next game will be published by Electronic Arts under the EA Originals label.
Well, to make the list complete, it was EA who shared Hazelight’s tweet with additional clarification. Their new game should be “A new, totally epic co-op adventure game.” So it looks like the studio will once again stick to its tried-and-true genre.
We don’t yet know how long we’ll have to wait for a full performance. Fares only said it would happen “soon.” If it happens today at the Xbox Partner Preview, December’s The Game Awards, or somewhere else, we’ll have to wait for it.
