It will soon become one of Capcom’s top ten best-selling games.
Developers and publishers decided to report on sales of their games in recent hours. While co-op It Takes Two reported 20 million and the recent Silent Hill 2 remake reported one million, Capcom also joined in on the announcement. He announced on Twitter that the popular remake of the fourth Resident Evil has surpassed 8 million copies sold.
So in about seven months he added a million to previous sales since he reported 7 million in March this year. According to analyst Alex Aniel, the remake of the four still holds the position of the fastest-selling game in the series, until now it was held by Village, which passed the same milestone for 25 months, for RE4R – only 19.
The remake isn’t too far off the top 10 best-selling games in Capcom history, but it’s clearly aiming much higher. It should soon surpass the Trio remake, which has 9 million, and then The Village, which is just above 10th place in the ranking.
Resident Evils is still dominated by the seven, with less than 14 million copies sold, and the remake of the two, which has just over 14. Either way, neither installment reaches the heights of 2018’s Monster Hunter installment World. has over 20 million views and has long been the best-selling game since Capcom.
