Rime developers cancel unannounced game and quit – INDIA

Spanish studio Tequila Workswho brought us Frost, Gilt And Song of Nunu: History of League of Legendsthere were big plans. Following praise for previous games, the company was preparing two larger projects, but due to financial problems it had to lay off a “small” number of employees and cancel an unannounced game.

“It is with deep regret that we have to announce the decision to cancel the unannounced game,” Tequila Works said in a statement. “This difficult decision means that we will be restructuring the studio and focusing on developing just one game. These changes will affect a small number of roles at the studio.”

Tequila Works was founded in 2009 in Madrid and introduced to the world in 2012 with the game Deadlight. The most successful game remains 2017’s Rime. The latest game is last year’s Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story, published by now-defunct publisher Riot Forge. In 2022 Chinese Tencent became the main shareholder of Tequila Works. The money was used to develop the studio and develop new original brands.
