Vince Zampellafounder of Infinity Ward and Respawn studios, revealed the first details about the upcoming Battlefieldwhich should bring the series back to prominence. The creator of the original Call of Duty and Modern Warfare considers the third and fourth eras of Battlefield to be the pinnacle of Electronic Arts shooters. For this reason, in his new work, he intends to return to the essence of what Battlefield is and build on those foundations into a great work that will entertain players for a long time.
“It’s nostalgic for the players, for me, even for the teams.” introduced Zampella to IGN and released the first illustration. It shows a city on fire and battles on land, air and sea.
Zampella confirmed to the US server that the game will take place in modernity and won’t offer the large-scale 128-player battles that were the preserve of the less successful Battlefield 2042. Instead, it will focus on 64 players (32 vs. 32) He also abandons the unpopular specialist system in favor of the classical class system.
“So we’re creating something more like the previous Battlefields,” he said, preferring to have beautiful, dense, well-designed play spaces instead of huge battlefields. “Some of them are really good. I can’t wait for you to see them.” — added Zampella.
The new Battlefield is called one of the most ambitious projects in EA history. The game is being developed by DICE, Motive, Ripple Effect and Criterion. Together they form a single-player story campaign and multiplayer battles. Unofficially, there will be a “Battle Royale” along with the classic multiplayer.
At this point, we don’t know when the game will be released. Zampella said that some players will be able to try the game out next year as part of public program. It is quite possible that Battlefield will also be released in 2025. Another important piece of information: the game entered full production earlier this year.
