However, Steam Deck’s other competition comes as no surprise.
After Valve, Asus, Lenovo and MSI, we have another company that has started making handhelds for PCs, and that is Acer. It has introduced a device called the Nitro Blaze 7, but it is not much different from its competitors.
Nitro Blaze 7 has a processor Ryzen 7 8840HSwhich has almost identical specs to the Z1 Extreme used in the ROG Ally (X) and Legion GO. The Steam Deck, even in its OLED version, still relies on the older model, while the MSI Claw uses Intel processors.
The display, as the name suggests, seven-inch with Full HD resolution and 144 Hz refresh rateincluding support VRRbut this is again a classic LCD display with IPS panel. Then the battery has a capacity 50 watt hourswhich is the same as the Steam Deck OLED, but significantly less than, for example, the ROG Ally X.
As for memory, Acer promises 16GB LPDDR5X at speed 7500 MT/sthat is, the same frequency as the new ROG Ally X. PCIe 4.0 NVMe solid state drive should be up 2 TBbut there will probably be more models.
The device also offers support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. In terms of connectivity, it provides 2 x USB4 (with a speed of 40 Gbps) and a slot for an SD card. As for the sound, there are built-in speakers, as well as a microphone and 3.5mm jack.
Hand scales 670 g and comes with it installed Windows 11 Home, and you also get a free PC Game Pass for 3 months. However, we don’t know the release date or price yet, which will of course be important due to the high competition.
