Ouka Studios they should be on the verge of closing. The Chinese company NetEase, which owns the team, had to decide to cancel it some time ago due to a revaluation of investments in Japan. The information was provided by the Bloomberg agency.

The studio should have been reduced to the bare minimum by now. Employees should have lost their jobs since the spring, despite the fact that their title Visions of Mana it was released only on Thursday, August 29. Japan’s Square Enix has also entrusted the Mana series to Japan’s Ouka Studios. But it is Japan that must be tired of the Chinese giant NetEase. It is not going to invest further in the islands, as it has not managed to achieve sufficiently successful results.

The strategy shift should also include the closure of Ouka Studios. However, Visions of Mana has received mostly positive reviews. Similarly, the second major Chinese company, Tencent, will be building its operations in Japan. According to Bloomberg, mainland Chinese companies have a hard time communicating with Japanese developers in terms of creative and business vision. While the Japanese usually prefer to work on smaller, less risky projects, Chinese publishers expect blockbusters.
