Deathclaw is deliberately waiting for you in Goodsprings.
Fallout: New Vegas is still considered one of the best parts of the Fallout series, which is not surprising. Its creators managed to create something that is essentially very close to the first representatives of this brand, which the community was able to appreciate. As the lead designer, Josh Sawyer is one of the prominent faces of this work, which, of course, gives him a good idea of how the development went. Like some other veterans of the gaming industry, he is now releasing his own video in which he talks more about the projects he worked on.
This time he also dedicated a space to Fallout: New Vegas, where he talked about a number of details. Among other things, there was also balance. According to Sawyer, his creation is significantly more complex than Skyrim or Fallout 3, which he wanted to inform players about shortly after entering the game world. The way he did this was very specific. He placed deadly deathclaws, super mutants and cazadors near the starting location of Goodsprings. In short, a selection of tough enemies capable of kicking the ass of pampered players, the inattentive were presented already at the beginning.
Sawyer himself commented on the formation of balance and difficulty in games as follows: “Difficulty is more than just adjusting the parameters of weapons, damage, monster hit points and so on. It’s more than that. Behavior, the environment – a lot depends on it.” You can see for yourself how difficult Fallout: New Vegas was on PC.
