There have been rumors about the successor to the Nintendo Switch hybrid console for years. And every time it seems like the release is close, bad news comes. Last year, it seemed like it would be released in the fall of 2024, then they wrote about a postponement to the beginning of next year, specifically to the first quarter, but even this is supposedly no longer true.

Christopher Dring was the first to reveal the new information on the GamesIndustry.biz podcast. According to his contacts with the developers, none of them expect the release to happen this financial year, that is, before the end of March 2025, allegedly Nintendo itself was supposed to tell them this information later.

The same news was apparently confirmed by Takeshi Mochizuki of Bloomberg and then Eurogamer via a hint on Twitter, who said the new Switch won’t be out until April.

Nintendo fans will probably have to wait a little longer for the new device than it seemed a while ago. On the other hand, it must be said that the Switch game lineup is still full. We have a new Zelda in September, Super Mario Party in October, and Mario & Luigi in November. And one thing is for sure: the new console will be introduced this fiscal year.
