It’s been nine years since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released. And yet, as modder Brothers in Arms and YouTuber xLetalis have shown, there’s still more to come from the title. Thanks to the REDkit modding tool, the pair have managed to uncover a never-before-seen final scene in which Yennefer plays a major role in deciding the fate of the Witch Lodge. It’s been around since the books, but its fate was never fully revealed at the end of Volume 3, along with a number of other details tied to Volumes 1 and 2. The portion shown to fans was supposed to contain between 15 and 20 minutes of new dialogue, including a part where Yennefer outright betrays her sisters.
The reason why Yennefer decides to do something like this actually makes sense, given her portrayal in the books. The level of the cutscene itself is very decent, so it’s a bit of a shame that it didn’t make it into The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, as it could have given many players the ending that many of them wanted.
