Czech game stores Xzone and JRC have published rankings of the best-selling games and consoles over the past month. This time you can look at an overview of the most successful products for the month of May.
XZone
In Xzone, players showed the greatest interest in the action-adventure film Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, released last October exclusively on the PlayStation 5 console. Second place was taken by the remake of “Souls.” Demon Soulsfollowed by a Nintendo exclusive Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. Games such as System Shock Remake, Stellar Blade, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice or Horizon: Forbidden West were placed elsewhere.
The console field saw a change after a long time, with the Nintendo Switch taking first place, leaving behind the otherwise dominant PlayStation 5. “Something unexpected happened and the PlayStation 5 replaced the Nintendo Switch first. This was largely due to Nintendo’s spring discounts, when old and new OLED models can be purchased for good price” This is stated in a press release from Xzone representatives.
J.R.C.
They mostly dominated the JRC. sports games from Electronic Arts, which were complemented by traditional multi-platform products. The NHL 24 title can count on first place, helped by the recent World Cup of Hockey. “This hockey game from EA has been in the top ten for a long time, but has not yet won gold. For comparison, in April he finished ninth.” describes the success of hockey expert Petr Kratochvil from JRC.
EA Sports FC 24 also did well, finishing just behind the NHL. “We can expect it to rise to first place again next month. The Czech Republic is the European football championship,” adds Petr Kratochvil. Other leading positions were occupied by games such as Grand Theft Auto V, Hogwarts Legacy, Minecraft, The Last Of Us: Part I or Gran Turismo 7.
