On Game State previously announced multiplayer first-person shooter revealed in detail Concord. Sony devoted a significant part of its space to news from former Call of Duty authors from the Firewalk studio, specifically citing the film’s trailer and the first sample of gameplay. Thus, we can conclude that Concorde is betting big. But players do not share the enthusiasm of the Japanese company and another livestream title has been widely criticized.
If you look at the comments, there is one thing that worries players the most. Judging by initial impressions, Concorde won’t bring much new to the table. Looks like another five-on-five multiplayer shooter Overwatch from Blizzard, only this time with visuals reminiscent of Guardians of the Galaxy. Others complained about the live service. They’d rather treat Concord as a single-player, story-driven game. Others have noted similarities to Bungie’s Destiny, which is also part of the PlayStation stable.
From a thumbs perspective, that says it all. More than 12,000 people gave the gameplay demo a negative review, while less than 3,000 voted for it. The film’s trailer received 77% negative reviews. This Astro Bot has 99% positive likes.
Only time will tell if Concorde can succeed. Some people don’t think so, at least not now that it costs money. The developers and Sony apparently believe in the project and they are preparing a lot of additional content. At launch, the game will have 16 characters, consisting of the Northstar team and free agents. Additional playable characters, maps and modes will appear in free updates. Updates should be released regularly.
Concord will be released on August 23, 2024 on PlayStation 5 and PC.
