The reboot of the Survival Horror series Alone in the Dark received a very good 8 out of 10 in our review, with one of the main criticisms being the technical side. Although the reception from other reviewers and players themselves was largely mixed, the game did not live up to Embracer’s expectations, and although there were mass layoffs at the Pieces Interactive studio, the developers did not stop working on updates. These have mostly been minor updates to fix annoying bugs, but the update released on Wednesday is absolutely massive.
First, it adds a New Game+ mode to the game, which you can start after completing the base game. In it, you start with all weapons unlocked, fight new, stronger enemies, and there are several new cutscenes, including a new intro. The second important addition is the photo mode.
On top of all this, the new update fixes dozens of bugs, adds several quality of life improvements such as new save positions or modified tutorials, improves combat, balance, and visuals and performance. Improved Steam Deck support has also been added, including a special preset just for it.
You can play Alone in the Dark on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game can be purchased on Alza.cz.
We have just released a new patch for #Alone in the dark with new features such as Photo Mode and NG+, a fix for the “Nobody Knows What Happened” achievement bug, and various other improvements.
