In October 2023, developers from the Polish studio Road released a truck simulator called Alaskan Road Truckers on computers, in which players caused Alaska to freeze. Despite its mixed reception, it is one of the few ambitious games that attempts to compete with games from Czech studio SCS Software, led by American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2. However, it is important to note that SCS Software’s games have long been available only on computers.
The long-requested console ports have not yet appeared. The authors of the game Alaskan Road Truckers will try to take advantage of potential holes in the console market, who have announced the exact release date for versions for consoles, which will bear the subtitle Highway Edition.
