Continuation of the successful medieval role-playing game. Kingdom Come: Deliverance, which has sold more than 6 million copies, is revealed in a behind-the-scenes diary. In the footage of the preparation for the announcement from Peter Pekarzh you can hear several interesting things.
Prague studio Warhorse did not underestimate anything. The announcement trailer was quite interesting. Even more attention is paid to the game itself, which will bigger and better than number one. In the video, cinematographer Petr Pekarz takes us behind the scenes of the filming of cutscenes for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
“The story of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is grand and multi-layered, but at the same time realistic and grounded. So our main goal was to make cutscenes that would tell this story in the same way.” Baker says in the video.
“The actual scenes were filmed and choreographed by stuntmen who have excellent knowledge of medieval combat. We are talking not only about fencing and shooting from firearms, but also about the organization of medieval battlefields. Each part of the battlefield was filmed and directed separately, but in such a way as to maintain the same mood, pace and timing of the entire battle scene, creating the perfect illusion of a crowd attack. We really tried to make the scenes authentic, realistic and chaotic, but also militarily organized so that you can witness the most accurate reproduction of a medieval battlefield that we could.” Baker continues.
The difference from Warhorse Studios’ first medieval adventure is the cinematic atmosphere. It will be darker and more mature. So they took care of the lighting, weather effects, composition, sound effects and environment. “We want players to feel as if they were truly in the Middle Ages.” Pekarzh added.
Capturing performance goes hand in hand with all of this. Special camera frames worn by the actors on their heads allowed for more accurate capture of the emotions and performances of fighters such as Tom Mackay and Luke Dale, as well as many other talented actors. “We tried very hard to capture the essence of their talent and translate it into the game as much as possible,” added Pekarzh, saying that 12 professional directors and sound engineers are currently working on the cut scenes.
“I believe that together we will provide you with the most cinematic experience you have ever had in an open world game. I hope you enjoy our cutscenes.” Pekarzh said goodbye, promising more videos like this.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be released this year on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game will Czech dub on all platforms.
