Four years ago Dan Houser said goodbye to Rockstar Games. The co-founder and vice president worked at the famous studio for 22 years. He founded it with his brother Sam in 1998 and others. But Dan had to be the driving force and the main one. He is credited with the Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption series, as well as Bully and Max Payne 3.
Houser did not decide to stop developing the game. Instead of retiring, he founded a new studio called Absurd enterprises. It has already been registered in the summer of 2021. Today a famous screenwriter boasted that is preparing an adventure game set in an open world. It offers best-in-class third-person combat and action across multiple modes.
In addition to Dan Houser, the team includes other former Rockstar employees. Among them are veterans Michael Unsworth, Lazlow Jones or Adam Tedman. They are looking for additional developers to join the team, including an art director, lead designer, lead producer or technical director.
In fact, we don’t even know why Dan Houser left Rockstar Games. They say this happened under unpleasant circumstances. There were rumors of power struggles in the studio, as well as less creative freedom.
