Amazon production company MGM Studios today she announced preparing a series based on the Tomb Raider game series. The project will be headed by a British actress, producer and screenwriter. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who as a creator has signed on for shows like Killing Eve and Fleabag. As an actress, she recently appeared in the films Solo: A Star Wars Story or Indiana Jones and the Dial of Doom.
She will serve as a writer and producer on the Tomb Raider series. The head of Amazon MGM Studios, Jennifer Salk, emphasized that Phoebe Waller-Bridge is a longtime fan of Lara Croft. She also noted that she will start work soon. in search of the perfect actress for this iconic character. The Tomb Raider series will be heading to Prime Video’s library at an as yet unspecified date.
The announcement of the series was also welcomed by the management of Crystal Dynamics studio, which is currently preparing a new game in collaboration with Amazon. Thus, a certain connection between these two projects is directly proposed. However, the preparation of the game should be at a more advanced stage compared to the series. For now, all we know is that it will run on Unreal Engine 5 and offer a single-player mode that will open a new chapter in Lara Croft’s story.
