After leaving Jim Ryan Retirement marks the start of a new PlayStation era under two bosses. One will oversee hardware and services, while the other will be responsible for games created at PlayStation Studios.
He will be the first boss on June 1st. Hideaki Nishino, currently Vice President of the Platform Experience Group, where he leads the team responsible for developing PlayStation features, technologies and services. Among other things, he was involved in expanding the boundaries of the PlayStation 5, creating PlayStation VR2 and connecting players through the PlayStation Network. He will now become CEO of the new Platform business group, where he will be responsible for technology, products, services and platform experiences. He will also oversee third-party publisher and developer relations and business operations, including sales and marketing of hardware, services and peripherals.
He becomes the second boss Hermen Hulst. He will continue to manage SIE Studios, which now includes not only PlayStation Studios, but also Bungie and PlayStation Productions. He will be responsible for the development, publishing and commerce of SIE’s own content, as well as brand extension opportunities through PlayStation Productions. This means movies/serials.

Both Hideaki Nishino and Hermen Hulst will be subordinates. Hiroki Totoki, who is the President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Sony Group Corporation. He sat as CEO of SIE for some time and will also serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors of SIE.
We’ll know more about Sony Group’s long-term outlook later this month. SIE has a vital role to play in this vision. 2024 should be the beginning of the medium-term plan period for the Sony Group, in which I will set a course for sustainable growth.
