When Ubisoft revealed the future of the Assassin’s Creed series in the fall of 2022, it revealed a number of projects. As a result, a completely different game was released first – last year’s Mirage, still built on the old engine and generally based on existing parts, only on a smaller scale, as was customary with the first games in this series. But we’ve known for a long time that the next big open world project would be a project codenamed Red. And that’s exactly what Ubisoft officially announced today. introducedalready under the final name.

It’s called Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and that’s the only information the developers have revealed so far. However, we won’t have to wait long for details, because it’s already on Wednesday. May 15 at 18:00 Central European Summer Time will see the premiere of the first trailer.

In any case, we know from earlier reports that this is a Japanese-installed part. From a March article from trusted insider Tom Henderson, we learned that the game will be built on an improved Anvil Pipeline engine.

From a technical perspective, this will mean that the game will use RTGI (ray-traced global illumination) and virtual geometry (a system like Nanite that allows for a de facto infinite amount of detail). We can also expect improved animations, a parkour system, dynamic weather, and other improvements.

You can add Assassin’s Creed Shadows to your wishlist.
