Shin Megami Tensei V is the latest entry in the Shin Megami Tensei franchise. The game was released in Japan on November 11, 2021 and in the West on November 12, 2021 as a Nintendo Switch console exclusive. Like previous games in the Shin Megami Tensei series, here we follow the fate of the protagonist, who can fight more demons, get more, and then combine them into stronger forms. After merging with a god-like being, the protagonist must travel through a post-apocalyptic version of Tokyo known as Daath.
The latest release reportedly includes sales of physical and digital games worldwide, but less than two months after its release, Atlus announced that over 800,000 copies of SMT V had been sold worldwide.
