A number of enthusiasts have gathered in Liverpool to create their own original games with innovative gameplay. Since 2010 they have been working in the Atomik studio, which has now been renamed Star games.
They have three projects in the pipeline, including a sequel to the crazy arcade mini-golf game House of Golf, a sci-fi rogue-lite, and a futuristic sports game. All three projects are built on Unreal Engine 5.
Golf House 2 will be released this summer for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Number one arrived on Switch in 2019. The futuristic game is directed by Nick Burcombel, who previously worked on the WipEout series. His colleagues are Andy Santos, who worked at Skate and led the development of Horizon: Call of the Mountain, and Gary Nichols, who previously worked at Psygnosis, where the WipEout series was created.
All three projects can be seen in a video dedicated to the studio, which is trying to attract new developers to its ranks.
