This fall, Ubisoft is preparing the return of the Assassin’s Creed series in the form of a title, tentatively titled Red, that will take players to feudal Japan. However, the French publisher has previously reported that several games from this famous brand are at different stages of development. Thanks to Insider Gaming magazine, we were able to see the publication first unofficial details about a game called Assassin’s Creed Hex.
It was previously confirmed that Ubisoft Montreal is working on this part. According to the sources of the mentioned magazine, or rather insider Tom Henderson, Hexe should differ quite significantly from the previous parts. Game on have a more linear structure, with an open world concept to work on a more limited scale. The main character will presumably be a witch named Ela, who is supposed to have supernatural powers.
The “spells” area mentions, for example, the ability to possess a cat or knock over a glass bottle from a distance, which will distract enemies. In terms of setting, Assassin’s Creed Hexe has players travel back to the 16th century, when the main character fights German soldiers. The game’s mechanics mention a fear system, which has been compared to similar mechanics from the Jack the Ripper expansion for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. Overall, this should be a darker episode with a touch of horror and a greater degree of supernatural activity. The release date is set for 2026.
