Slowly but surely the day is approaching when we will once again be tasked with ensuring the survival of people in one of the world’s last settlements in freezing and dangerous conditions. Sequel to the highly acclaimed Frostpunk The truth will come out in the summer. However, some players will soon be able to try out the game.
Closed beta will take place from April 15 to 22 this year. This will allow players to try out a portion of the sandbox mode called the Utopia Builder Preview. So it will only be a certain part focused on city construction. We will likely be introduced to new innovations in the form of solutions to complex social problems.
If you want to get into the closed beta, your only option is to pre-order Frostpunk 2 at digital deluxe edition for 67.49 euros (approx. 1700 CZK). In addition to the game, this includes access to three DLC (post-launch), the ability to complete the story campaign 72 hours before the game launches, a mysterious exclusive in-game item, a novel that expands the world of Frostpunk, and a digital art book with the soundtrack.
Frostpunk 2 will be released six years after the first. Since then, three decades have passed in the game, which will plunge you even deeper into the post-apocalyptic abyss. In addition to improving and expanding the city, you will also have to solve complex social dilemmas. Tensions arise due to the different ideas of the different factions outside the city walls. They are fighting for loyalty among its inhabitants, and you will have to make a decision. Will your decisions lean towards ice-blooded survivalists, proponents of adaptation rather than development? Or will you side with the methodical Technocrats, supporters of technological progress? And perhaps you will side with one of the more radical groups that will pull the strings in the city.
Frostpunk 2 will be released on July 25/2024 on PC, including Game Pass. Versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S will appear later.
