Sky Team: Smooth Landing is a co-op board game based on the original airliner theme where you and your co-pilot try to get to the ground. The following paragraphs of our review will tell you how the whole concept works and if it has anything interesting to offer.

  • Number of players: 2

There are two of you in Sky Team: Smooth Landing.

Probably everyone wanted to get on a plane and experience what it was like to fly it. In the co-op game Sky Team: Smooth Landing, you take on the role of a couple in charge of controlling an airliner heading to the airport. In front of you is a control panel that you have to work with in the name of a smooth landing. Both the pilot and co-pilot control only part of the board, in fact you can only tell certain places, represented by their color.

Yes this is true. Sky Team: A smooth landing gives them both a specific color of dice, which they then use on the board to perform the actions necessary to ensure that the plane lands rather than crashing into the ground or otherwise crashing. The pilot is primarily responsible for extending the landing gear, and the co-pilot is primarily responsible for the flaps. Both form these components during flight and thus also determine the behavior of the aircraft.

Each player has a total of four dice, marked with the traditional numbers. Once you select them, you take one of them on your turn and place it on the board according to your pair’s needs. What you need to succeed is something you have to figure out for yourself after rolling the dice. It is impossible to advise where you should put a given piece. Communication only occurs outside of the phases in which you are working with dice, and can only be communicated during it on a normal targeting basis. As a result, you can’t tell your teammate where to put their potentially discarded die even if you wanted to, and this job relies on efficient dice handling.Review of the board game Sky Team: Sky Team 2 Smooth Landing

I am not afraid to say that among the actions there are necessarily those without which the plane will fall to the ground. Perhaps this is the engine. When you forget about him and he doesn’t feed from two cubes, it’s not interesting. A no less wild situation then arises when the airplane’s tilt is not set in such a way that it flies more or less evenly without the desire to go into a tailspin, which is not particularly desirable, at least for transport models. Although even these can be switched as part of the dice roll, because players always give a value only to their side, and this in practice means that if one number is low and the other high, then there can be a decent wild.

Then you need to actively use radio stations in Sky Team: Smooth landing. This is the only way to get rid of planes that are “standing” in your way before you head to a given square. In the final, you need a lot of brakes, because you don’t want to go straight into the vestibule, so you place cubes with clear values at three points. However, he will not always wish you luck, and it is for such moments that there are concentration points with which the player can determine the value of a certain number up or down by the number of tokens he will use for this action. You can also insert new roll tokens into the dice, which allow you to roll all the dice in your hand or just a selected number.

Thanks to the dice and the fact that players can’t communicate with each other while placing them, you’ll have some really heated moments at times. In the end, you usually manage to get the plane to “home”, but the fun doesn’t end there. The player is then presented with a flight log, which is an expansion of the rules with which you can expand the gameplay by adding fuel, wind, real time, a trainee, or multiple scenarios that test your skills. It’s nice to get new scripts online. Review of the board game Sky Team: Sky Team Smooth Landing 1

Sky Team: A smooth landing will test your teamwork to the max

The plane landed successfully on the first runway, so it’s time to take a look at Sky Team’s score: Smooth landing. From what I experienced while playing, this is a very successful cooperative board game that has no analogues on the market at all. The theme is new and well-developed, so you have not only an interesting idea, but also a control panel with which you can work with blocks. Collaborating with another player is fun and tests how much you can play with your thoughts together. So if you like the theme, or are just looking for an affordable game for a few tens of minutes to play with a partner, this isn’t a bad choice at all.
