The SCS Software studio in Prague continues to improve truck simulator maps. A small team of two to four people has been working on Germany’s redesign for the past two years. “All cities were redesigned from scratch” — says Iva, one of the map designers. They threw the previous map into the trash because it didn’t show the Rhineland very well. “They created a completely new urban structure that more accurately reflects the area around the Rhine. We tried to make the most of our spatial capabilities on the map and capture the Rhineland as realistically as possible, including population density, industry and, ultimately, its area. It will be a big change from the base map.” Iva continues.
“One of the biggest changes players will notice is the density of the road network. Now it will be possible to look into the very heart of some cities and discover the contrast between the industrial zone and the center itself. I dare say we captured the best of every city!”

Although this is not typically an area where trucks are allowed to travel, we couldn’t do without redesigning the area from the ground up to bring it up to our current quality standards.” – explains a representative of SCS Software.

As part of the third phase of California’s improvement, Yosemite National Park will become accessible. You can find it directly on the GPS map. From Modesti you can reach the entrance to Big Oak Flat where you will find the information station. If you start from the Lee Vining side, you can reach the entrance to Tioga Pass.
Unfortunately, in neither case was the release date of the updates indicated. SCS Software is still working on expanding the map to include Greece and the northern regions of Norway, Finland and Sweden. The creators of American Truck Simulator are preparing DLC with Nebraska, Arkansas and Missouri.
