The authors of Dwarf Fortress offer a demo version of the Adventure mode.

Despite the low expectations of some players, the Dwarf Fortress simulator has finally appeared in the world. However, the release of version 1.0 did not complete the authors’ work on their work, as evidenced by the announcement of the Adventure mode several months ago. You will not build anything in it, but will go in the shoes of the hero you have chosen/created towards adventures in a randomly generated world full of monsters, treasures and interesting tasks. To show off the work on this expansion, the studio released ten minutes of combat gameplay, and I have to say, they don’t look bad at all. Definitely something to look forward to.

The creators of Dwarf Fortress have not yet announced the exact release date of the Adventure mod. However, it appears to be very actively being worked on, so we’ll no doubt see it on PC in April, as originally promised.
