After some hints and speculation, developers from Larian Studios have confirmed that they are working on official mod support for Baldur’s Gate 3. Publishing director Michael Dawes said Twitter specifically reported that the studio working on a reliable cross-platform tool, which will be released later this year. The upcoming decision should make the work of moderators much easier.
This is a definite reaction to the problematic compatibility of modifications with gradually released updates, as well as to the popularity of the fan content itself. The entire system is currently being improved and thoroughly tested by developers. This is also interesting mention of consoleswhich shows that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S players will also see community changes over time.
We usually don’t talk about things until they’re ready, but as you may have read, we make an exception. We are working on a robust cross-platform mod support plan that will be released later this year. We love our modding community and want to support it. Approaching. https://t.co/54GsxNshlQ
