Slovak studio Doublequote Studio has been preparing something interesting to look at for a long time. card role-playing game called HeistGeist. We recently learned from a press release from Xzone that the traditional digital version will be accompanied by a physical version of Xzone, which will offer Czech localization in the form of subtitles as a bonus. In addition to the game itself in the form of a Steam digital key, the publication will include a mini-art book, a poster with the game map, four original lithographs, a paper mini Puddles stand and several stickers.
The release date of the game, including its physical version, is indicated. approximately for May of this year. HeistGeist takes you to Istrocity, inspired by Bratislava’s vision of the future. The story revolves around seasoned thief Alex, who along with her gang must evade corporate assassins and then plan the biggest heist of her career.
“An important part of the heist and cyberpunk genre is hacking security systems. Therefore, we thought for a long time about how to rework this in our game, so that it was not just a mini-game, but a regular game mechanic. Taking inspiration from games like Android: Netrunner or the new DeusEx games, we tried to create a semi-unique card puzzle mechanic where the player uses cards representing various programs and viruses to dig deeper into the network to obtain sensitive data. or critical access. And all this is still shrouded in the theme of Slavic and Nordic mythology.” The game is also characterized by one of the important mechanics, Ivan Kozmon from Doublequote Studio.
