Studio Cult of the North was created in Sweden back in November 2022, but it was only presented to the public now. It attracts new projects and developer experience from large companies such as Electronic Arts, King or Activision Blizzard.
They became co-founders of the team Adam Schaub And Marcus Jacobs. The first, director of Cult of the North, has experience as vice president of King and general director of Mythical Games and Electronic Arts studios. Jacobs was also a vice president at King, served as director of monetization at EA, and will take on the role of chief product officer on the new team.
The studio also partially revealed its debut title. He calls it a project designation for now Gundalf and says it will be an “ambitious and expansive next-gen PvP game” that will run on Unreal Engine 5. Players are expected to build kingdoms, make friendships, or fight gods. The developers are planning a release in 2025.
