Last December, the Japanese company Sega revealed plans to release revival of several popular brands of the past. In particular, these were the series Jet Set Radio, Golden Ax, Shinobi, Steets of Rage and Crazy Taxi. After a long break, all these already slightly forgotten titles should see a new part or a complete reboot in the future. However, many players have wondered how Sega will approach the return of the aforementioned brands.
At least in the case of the Crazy Taxi reboot, we’re a little wiser now. Sega Sapporo studio president Takaya Segawa said in an interview with Japan Times magazine that this will be a traditional AAA title. However, since we’ve only seen a few short snippets of the game so far, players can do nothing but hope that this claim will actually be backed up by the production values and scope of the upcoming game.
Fans of the series are waiting for a full-fledged new series they waited more than 11 years, which separates us from the release of Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller. After this, only a few small spin-offs followed for handheld computers and mobile platforms.
