In Cthulhu: Even Death May Die you have to stop great rituals.
While zombicide stories often revolve around fighting evil necromancers or trying to escape infested places, Cthulhu: Even Death Can Die puts you in a battle for the fate of the world. The player is given ten investigators. However, they are not always adults. At your disposal are brave men, able-bodied women and one child. However, they all have special abilities that they can use to fight evils that others dare not face.
Cthulhu: Even Death May Die confronts them with a duel with two Ancients. One of the people the cultists will try to summon is Cthulhu. Hastura can also be found next to him. There are six scenarios at your disposal, which offer different levels that you can go to. Other adventures, and therefore a set of juices, can be found in the Books of Madness chapter, while others must be encountered as part of the Cursed Tide storyline. However, the stories are always quite gloomy, because H. Lovecraft certainly never imagined any cheerful adventures.
The very locations you go to are in Cthulhu: Even Death Can Die with less lore than Zombicide. As such, the experience is much more focused on them, which makes the whole adventure challenging enough that you won’t get bored with them, and in fact, in the end you won’t even have to decide whether the space is occupied. from several rooms or impressive streets connecting to each other. Individual areas are often tied to certain conditions and factors. For example, in the first you will have to deal with fires spreading everywhere that can be put out, while other challenges await you that test how well you can handle the actions at your disposal.
Each hero has a chance to perform a total of three actions during their turn. Movement is fundamental here, as in other games. When you end your turn on a square where a monster is or is already standing there with you, your next move can be an attack, which is traditionally associated with dice, the roll of which determines whether you succeed. You may receive a shamrock of opportunity. One, of course, is successful. The second is to use a special ability if you have one. Thirdly, these are the tentacles that plunge your hero further and further into the abyss of madness.
If you manage to roll enough dice, the monster will be able to fall safely and you will be free again. However, if the monster is still standing in your position during its turn, its moment comes during which it makes a lunge, which you also realize through the die. As with attacking heroes, monsters can also physically and mentally damage their saps. However, falling into the clutches of madness can have not only a negative effect, since the development of individual character skills is also associated with it. Hero evolution is important to your success as juices are everywhere and keep coming.
However, they do not appear out of nowhere, but are closely related to the Mythic cards. This is a generator of dark events, the arrival of evil forces through portals, as well as the movement of the Ancient One along his board, along which he travels to his destination. You can only stop it by completing one of the tasks. Maybe you destroy a certain number of workshops, making your main saps a vulnerable creature who can die upon arrival in our world. The adventure in Cthulhu: Even Death May Die ends with your character being killed (winning), falling, or reaching the end of their journey, effectively becoming immortal and ending the world.
