The fact that the first part of the Doom series can be played on refrigerators, thermometers and many other devices is now well known. However, bioengineering researcher Lauren Ramlan from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology has managed to find another area where this legendary first-person shooter can be played. According to her semester project, Doom can also be played on a 1-bit display with bioluminescent E. coli bacteria. The discovery is impressive.

However, the pace of the game will not be breakneck. At least until you gain immortality or significant life extension, you probably won’t play Doom. The entire game is expected to take 600 years to complete. This device can only show you three images a day, so if you start playing today, you’ll be on a multi-generational expedition. On the one hand, this is small information, but it perfectly shows the development of disciplines, which can often influence games.
