The era of PlayStation remakes may continue. After two parts of The Last of Us, Sony has to dig deeper and dig out of the grave Nathan Drake. The action-adventure game starring the popular indie treasure hunter is set to return in the form of a remake of the popular first Uncharted game.

Uncharted: Drake’s Luck Remake should be in development for PlayStation 5 and PC. The information comes from renowned leaker Nick “Speshal Nick” Baker, who used to specialize in Xbox but recently correctly predicted games at Sony’s State of Play. Baker learned about the Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune remake from various sources and also had to see unspecified evidence.

Only this information was communicated to him some time ago. So he’s not sure whether Japanese society has changed its mind by chance. If all goes well, Nathan Drake could return this year. Neither Naughty Dog nor Bluepoint Games, a studio specializing in remakes, will be responsible for development. Neil Druckmann, head of Naughty Dog, previously stated that Uncharted has closed and it’s time to move on. Here it is appropriate to remember the end of 2022, when rumors about an Uncharted reboot appeared. And in January 2023, a PS5 advertisement was released, hinting at a new Uncharted with a different character.

Uncharted is one of the most popular PlayStation series. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was released in May 2016 and concluded Nathan Drake’s story, selling 15 million copies by October 2019. In 2017, we saw a short single-player adventure, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, dedicated to Chloe Frasen. We were able to play the first remastered game on PS4 thanks to Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, released in 2015.
