Those who want a new one Star Craft, so they shouldn’t plan anything for the next week. Frost Giant Studio will present a demo of its real-time strategy as part of Steam Next Fest Stormgate.
A playable demo will be available on Steam from February 5 to 12 this year. You’ll be able to try out a ranked mode with one-on-one battles and a co-op portion where three players fight against the AI. Previously, it was possible to play only in closed tests.
At the same time, the developers are celebrating. On Kickstarter they managed to raise $2,380,701 from 28,143 people. The initial goal was quite modest, the authors wanted $100,000 because they provided the money for the development itself. Crowdfunding was intended to support the release of a physical collector’s edition. However, thanks to its success, it became possible to choose much more and unlock many game and content bonuses. As a reward, backers can already enjoy the beta version.
Stormgate is a real-time strategy game in the classic style., reminiscent of Blizzard’s StarCraft. It is being developed in Unreal Engine 5 and will be free when released. Frost Giant studio members previously worked on StarCraft 2, Warcraft 3 or Red Alert 2.
