There’s no time to waste. IN Larian Studios after huge success Baldur’s Gate 3 they begin to shift their attention to the next game. The role-playing game has collected the most Game of the Year 2023 awards, but the founder and CEO Sven Vincke he’s working on the first act of a new project with his loyal team. The rest are still dedicated to Baldur’s Gate 3.
Vincke boasted about this information on the social network X, where he said that after four months of rewriting, reworking and discarding ideas, he finally figured out what the first act of what he was working on should look like.
“This kind of work can be very frustrating if you get stuck, but the most important thing is to never give up and remain self-critical even when the situation seems hopeless.” Vincke continued, noting that in creative work, sometimes it can take time to find the right path.
He concludes by warning that this should not be taken as an announcement or a bait-and-switch. There is still time for this. On the other hand, the massive Baldur’s Gate 3 consists of three acts, so Vincke has already done a lot of work for the new project. What exactly it is, we will never know. Meanwhile, players are speculating whether it will be a completely new game, a major expansion for Baldur’s Gate 3, or the return of Divinity.
