Japanese studio FromSoftware announced its intention to shut down the console version servers Dark Souls 2. Online play will end on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on March 31, 2024. You’ll still be able to test your patience in single-player play.
The servers will be shut down at exactly 14:00 our time. Servers for PC, PS4 and Xbox One will still be running. So, you can still hack someone’s game or face another player’s invasion.
Dark Souls 2 was originally released in 2014 as a sequel to the well-received first title in 2011. Since then we’ve had Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, Dark Souls: Remastered, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Elden Ring, and FromSoftware’s Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon.
#DarkSouls2 PS3 and Xbox 360 servers will be shut down on March 31, 2024.
A message will appear indicating that online play has been disabled. Offline play will still be possible.
PC, PS4 and Xbox One servers will not be affected.
Thanks to those who have played since launch.
