Bungie expected much higher revenues – overall, the studio earned 45% less money than it initially expected. The main reason was considered to be a decrease in interest in Destiny 2, as well as a decrease in the number of pre-orders for the new expansion.

Destiny fans are angry at Sony after Bungie fired them. However, it later turned out that the studio was saved by a Japanese company. If it weren’t for PlayStation, it would have had a lot more financial problems.

However, delaying the release of The Final Shape will have an impact (small or large) on Sony’s financial results. The DLC will not be released this financial year, but next year. By all accounts, expansion was expected to be the main driver for the end of the financial year.

However, before the release of The Final Shape, players they will not be deprived of new content. New Weekly Challenges and Moments of Triumph Challenges will be available in February.
