Fans of MMO shooters Destiny 2 they are already looking forward to the release of the add-on Final form, which must finally put an end to the war between Light and Darkness. Key details about the expansion were revealed during this year’s Gamescom, and pre-orders began during the presentation. Unfortunately, we now have to disappoint players who have prepaid the DLC for a significant amount of 49.99 euros (about 1200 CZK converted).

We will see an expansion that was originally scheduled to arrive at the end of February next year. before the beginning of summer. This confirms a previous statement by renowned journalist Jason Schreier of Bloomberg. About moving the release date by one day 4. 6. the developers said in a press release, where they stated that The Final Shape needs more time to achieve the desired quality.

The announcement came shortly after Destiny 2 studio Bungie struck back. wave of layoffs. End of october about 100 employees had to leave the team, that is, approximately 8% of the total workforce. Bungie expected much higher revenues – overall, the studio earned 45% less money than it initially expected. The main reason was considered to be a decrease in interest in Destiny 2, as well as a decrease in the number of pre-orders for the new expansion.

Destiny fans are angry at Sony after Bungie fired them. However, it later turned out that the studio was saved by a Japanese company. If it weren’t for PlayStation, it would have had a lot more financial problems.

However, delaying the release of The Final Shape will have an impact (small or large) on Sony’s financial results. The DLC will not be released this financial year, but next year. By all accounts, expansion was expected to be the main driver for the end of the financial year.

However, before the release of The Final Shape, players they will not be deprived of new content. New Weekly Challenges and Moments of Triumph Challenges will be available in February. The Guardian Games, which focus on class combat, have been pushed back to March, and in April we’ll see Destiny 2: Into the Light, a bi-monthly update about which we have few details.
