A full-fledged remake of the famous RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic will most likely not be released soon. Announced in 2021, the project has long suffered from problematic developments, which some time ago led to change of development team, when the Aspyr studio was replaced by the Saber Interactive development division. Even this change apparently did not solve the problems. Already in May of this year, there was talk that work on the game was at least suspended and we might never see the final version.

In a new episode of the Giant Bomb magazine podcast, renowned insider Jeff Grubb confirmed this status. According to him, he was Game development has completely stopped and is not currently working in any studio. The end of development may be due to the extensive financial problems of Embracer Group, which has been largely laying off and canceling individual games in development lately. According to Grubb, only Disney can save the project, which could take the development of the game under its wing as the owner of the rights to the brand.

However, according to Grubb, there is currently no indication that this scenario could become a reality. Interested in the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic? and Sony shouldn’t, which revealed the game at the 2021 PlayStation Showcase event. After all, the introductory trailer cannot currently be found on the company’s official channels, because it was downloaded in September of this year.
