In 2004, Ubisoft released the first installment of the Far Cry series, which at the time was a fresh combination of open world and first-person shooter. Perhaps there is no need to introduce the premiere episode of the still popular series, let’s move on to the event itself. Boiling Point: Road to Hell perhaps most players have already forgotten. At the same time, both games are very close in their concept of an open world shooter. However, of the pair, only Far Cry was a significant success.

Boiling Point: Road to Hell was released in 2005, that is, just a year after the aforementioned Far Cry 1. Behind the development was the Ukrainian studio Deep Shadows, which had financial support from Atari. However, despite the modern and still unpopular concept for its time, the game received fairly average ratings, mainly due to unmanageable technical aspects and optimization, which, combined with unsatisfactory sales, meant the end of the entire brand.

But recently it was unexpectedly announced that the game will be re-released as a digital version for PC. The release will be handled by Ziggurat, which, apparently, managed to acquire the rights from Atari. The release was scheduled for November 14when the game appears on Steam and GOG. Unfortunately, with the exception of support for modern systems, no partial improvements can be expected.
