Developers from the British studio The Chinese Room have published a new development diary for the expected action RPG Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, which they took over the development of some time ago. In the mentioned diary, the authors focused on approximation of the game environment and its style. Deputy art director Ben Matthews said that they decided to use the so-called neo-noir. It’s supposed to have a fundamental contrast between light and dark, an element that lends itself naturally to a vampire-themed game.

Matthews further noted that in addition to the lighting itself, the color palette used is also important. While warm colors are used in the lit parts of the game world, cool colors play a role in the dark areas. In terms of placement the player will have a trip to Seattle, which select studio members visited for themselves and then explored its details via the Google Earth app. The result should be a believably rendered city with real realities.

Below you can take a look at five newly released images, which represent the aforementioned contrast of light and dark. According to the latest data, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 should be released next fall in versions for PC and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
