Polish studio 11 bit, which showed the first screenshots from Frostpunk 2 a few days ago, last year announced another project, which is primarily supported by the developers of This War of Mine. It’s called The Alters and it’s a sci-fi survival game that’s very unique. We didn’t know much about the game yet, but today a new trailer arrived, along with screenshots and impressions from a presentation for selected journalists, brought, for example, by Wccftech magazine.
The main character of The Alters is Jan Dolski. An ordinary worker shipwrecked on an unknown planet. He’s all alone here, but he’ll need help to get out. Therefore, he uses special technology that allows him to create alternative versions of himself. These are not just classic clones, but real living beings with their own thinking and feelings. According to the developers, they wonder what would have happened if we had decided differently at key moments. The original Yang can be supplemented, for example, with a scientist or engineer. The key will be to meet the needs of all the Yans and work together to repair the ship.
For the most part, this is a management game in which we will take care of Ian’s base. However, it will also involve exploring the planet, extracting raw materials or unexpected events and making decisions. In short, the creators promise a combination of management and strategic thinking, as well as a strong plot.
The Alters will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The title is due to be released in the first half of next year.
