Hunt: Showdown came out four years ago. During this time, the world of technology has made great strides forward. The German studio decided to keep up and update the game to run on CryEngine 5.11. This will allow you to add DirectX 12, AMD’s FSR 2.1.2 upscaling technology, HDR or Direct Storage. These and other changes will be clearly visible on completely new map with a different biome.
On the other hand, the minimum hardware requirements will increase. Instead of the current Intel i5-4590 and GTX 660, gaming at 1080p resolution with low graphics detail will require at least a 7th generation Intel 7700 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, Nvidia GTX 1650 Super or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT and 4 GB of video memory. . Crytek also took a good look at the number of players playing on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, because for these consoles there will be Hunt: Showdown support discontinued in April 2024. Development will focus only on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The native version of the game for current generation consoles will allow you to play not only in 60 frames per second, which is already possible, but also directly in 4K resolution with improved controller support. PS4 players will be able to upgrade to PS5 for free, and Xbox One players will be able to upgrade to Xbox Series X/S for free.
Even smaller updates are on the way. Gradually, the user interface will be redesigned, gamepad support will be added, weapons will be unlocked, or the matchmaking system will be improved. Not to mention new events, increasing the slot for hunters and revising the prestige/reward system.
