With release update 2.0 and expansion of history Phantom Freedom the developers managed to correct their reputation and get Cyberpunk 2077 among the highest rated games on Steam. Gamers’ interest in the cyberpunk adventure action is very high, but even this success will not change the plans of the Polish CD Projekt RED.
“Version 2.0 and Phantom Liberty are the latest major updates.” – said head of development Gabe Amatangelo in an interview with PC Gamer. This confirmed the end of support, i.e. except for minor patches to fix bugs and problems.
Most of the people who worked on Cyberpunk 2077 switched to The Witcher. When the new trilogy of fantasy role-playing games began, 260 developers were already working on it. They are now joined by most of the 300-person Phantom Liberty team. The new Witcher will work Unreal engine 5, which CD Projekt RED replaced with an internal REDengine for its future projects. This is why Cyberpunk 2077 will no longer receive content.
