Whatever your opinion of Cyberpunk 2077, you simply can’t deny CD Projekt’s efforts to creatively push the RPG genre forward. Well, it’s probably possible, because not everyone managed to get through the exciting sci-fi story of the streets of Night City without mistakes. The technical state divided players into several groups: those who had luck with the hardware, then those who had various, hard-to-reproduce problems, and then those who had a barely playable beta. Yes, it was a bad start. It turns out that thanks to these shortcomings, the developer’s efforts were able to live up to their promise and bring Cyberpunk to older consoles, which is at least ambitious for such a big game.
But three years have passed and the gaming world has moved on. All of Cyberpunk’s shortcomings weren’t just related to old technology. Playing Cyberpunk could be a great experience, but if you stray from the path laid out by the developers, the illusion of a living city crumbles before your eyes, like a house of cards, and many of the mechanisms are not interconnected enough.
But the developers fixed it. Over time, artificial intelligence has improved not only in the police, a generative character spawning system was added, more cosmetics and wardrobe, improved vehicle control, weapons were added, but all these are considered fairly minor modifications and in vain they had to put the developers in a dilemma.
To penetrate all critical systems, they must first overcome the limitations of previous generation consoles. The Phantom Liberty expansion and update 2.0 are no longer available on Xbox One and PS4. The Enhanced Edition offers more than just new missions or a reorganized skill tree. It introduces a redesigned portion of the city and improves the way the entire Night City is rendered and how it works with individual NPCs.
