On the occasion of Tokyo Game Show 2023, Capcom prepared a nearly nine-minute gameplay video highlighting the different classes, combat, and new features of the game. Dragon’s Dogma 2.
The continuation of the successful role-playing game takes us into a beautiful world inhabited by dangerous monsters. We will visit two regions: Parasiteswhere the Risen One rules, who slayed the dragon, and Combat, a city built on ancient ruins and ruled by beastmen. All spices day/night cycle, when some powerful monsters only appear at night. At night we can build a fire and use it to heal and communicate with our AI-controlled comrades.
At the beginning of the adventure we choose one of four professions. The good news is that it can be changed at any time. Each class has its own combat mechanics and abilities. We will be able to choose between:
- Fighterwho uses a one-handed sword and shield to deal melee damage.
- Archer, which focuses on ranged attacks using a third-person targeting system. He has explosive and blinding arrows at his disposal.
- Magewho casts spells using incantations, with stronger spells requiring longer spells.
- Thiefwhich focuses on sneaking up on monsters and attacking quickly with daggers.
Then here they are advanced professions. There are currently two presented, both combining magical power with non-magical attacks. The Mystic Spearman wields a double-edged, magic-infused spear, while the Arcane Archer can fire magic-infused arrows from a distance and heal teammates.
In the video we also see the use of the environment when fighting monsters. Dragon’s Dogma 2 does not have a set release date and will be coming to Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
